AUTOMATIC VEHICLE LOCATION (AVL) DEVICE
AVL devices which combine GPS and GSM/GPRS modules with other wireless communication technologies for real time tracking.A vehicle equipped with AVL unit receives signals from the GPS satellites. The GPS receiver determines its current location, speed and heading. This data can be stored or can be directly transmitted to an operating centre. Current position can be displayed on a PC in digital maps i.e. Google Earth or Google Maps. Automatic Vehicle Location is based on GPS (Global Positioning System) and GSM (Global standard of mobile communication). The AVL has the following main functions and features:
1. Track on Demand: this can be done by SMS or by calling. You can get the current location of the tracker by sending a SMS or making a telephone call directly to the tracker and it will report its longitude and latitude by SMS.
2. SMS and GPRS TCP/UDP Communication (PST Protocol: Using in the internet, you can use the longitude and latitude coordinates sent by the tracker to locate exactly where the vehicle is on Google Maps/ Google Earth.
3. Track by Time Interval: this is an optional feature which allows the tracking device to send periodic updates on the location of the vehicle.
4. Engine Cut (Stop Engine):an engine cut off is available allowing one to stop the engine if in motion or to even to prevent it from starting.

1. Intelligent car alarm system: This system is programmed in such a way that once it is armed any interference with the vehicle is reported to the owner via text message and also via phone call. 5. Remote start and stop engine: allows one to turn on the car engine remotely by the simple touch of a button.
6. Arm and Disarm the vehicle by use of the mobile phone: this allows the car owner to arm the sensor by use of their mobile phone.
7. Listen in features: a feature integrated with the car phone that enables one to listen in on the goings-on in the car without the vehicle patrons being aware.
8. Enable and Disable track sensor: a feature that allows one with the password of the car to enable and disable the tracker at will.
